Description
The whole body counter of the Rudolf Virchow Municipal Hospital has an open measuring chamber with a stationary 4' x 4' dia. NaI detector; it was used for balance measurements and for incorporation monitoring purposes. The facility has been expanded into a mobile measuring system. As a result of the expansion of the measuring setup into a linear scanning system with focusing collimation it is now possible to take profile scans. The necessary calibration measurements were carried out on an organ phantom specifically developed for the purpose, which created the preconditions for in vivo assays of the biokinetics data. On the basis of some patient measurements the storage selectivity of some radiopharmaceuticals in organs or tumors was detected and calculated with an accuracy in local dose assignment of +- 1 cm. Abstract (German)
Der Ganzkoerperzaehler des Staedtischen Rudolf-Virchow-Krankenhauses hat eine offene Messkammer mit einem stationaer angebrachten 4' x 4' Durchschnitt NaJ-Detektor und war fuer Bilanzmessungen sowie zur Inkorporationsueberwachung geeignet. Die Anlage wurde zu einem beweglichen Messsystem erweitert. Der Ausbau der Messanordnung zu einem linearen Abtastvorgang mit fokussierender Kollimation ermoeglicht Profilaufnahmen. Die notwendigen Kalibierungsmessungen wurden an einem eigens konstruierten Organphantom durchgefuehrt und somit die Voraussetzung zur Bestimmung der biokinetischen Daten in vivo geschaffen. Anhand durchgefuehrter Patientenmessungen konnte die Speicherselektivitaet einiger Radiopharmaka in Organen oder Tumoren mit einer Genauigkeit der Ortszuordnung von +- 1 cm erkannt und errechnet werden.
