Description
In this paper we present an exploratory study of the thermal performance of silicon and diamond monochromators of both natural and pure isotopic composition under the heat load generated by X-ray Free Electron Lasers (X-FELs). The thermo-mechanical performance of these crystals are compared and discussed. The impact of the particular time structure of the TESLA X-FEL on temperature and slope error of the crystal is investigated by finite element simulation
