Photometric and atomic absorption spectroscopic determination of iron, molibdenum and rhenium by ferricenia ion

  • 1. Tsentral'nyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Chernoj Metallurgii, Moscow (USSR)

Description

The possibility is shown of an indirect photometric determination of iron (3), molybdenum (6) and rhenium (7) by a ferrocene ion. The reaction involves hydrochloric-acetic acid invironment, the subsequent water dilution and extraction of ferrocene with chloroform. Consideration is given to the reduction of rhenium (7) with ferrocene in the organic phase (chloroform, dichloroethane). The possibility exists of the atomic absorption determination of Mo and Re by iron. The sensitivity of the atomic absorption determination is 0.35 mcg/ml for Mo and 0.22 mcg/ml for Re, which is 2 to 5 times that with a direct method of the same type for these elements
