Description

An existing US scheme for pooling nuclear power plant spare parts has yielded considerable cost savings for American utilities. An international programme, along similar lines, is now under development. Originally intended for Pacific Basin utilities, the scope of this scheme is currently being extended to power plants worldwide. (author)
