Vacuum-extractive determination of oxygen and carbon in pure indium, gallium and tin

Trace amounts of oxygen and carbon at the level 0.1-0.5 mass pmm in indium, gallium, and tin were determined by a vacuum-extractive method. The process of carbon extraction had the first order of concentration and was completed in 30-90 s. The limit of detection for oxygen and carbon, evaluated by the double deviation of blank values, was 1-3x10-6%. These values are limited by surface contamination of the sample. The relative standard deviation was 0.1-0.15 for the content range 10-4-10-5%. Accuracy of the results of analysis was shown by comparison with the data of MG-activation and gamma-activation methods
