Chromatographic analysis of heavy water with iron powder conversion method

Creators

Description

In the title method the iron powder should be activated before use. In the process of the analysis, the water sample will react with activated iron at 700 deg C to produce H2, then the deuterium content in the resultant H2 is measured by chromatography to obtain D2O concentration in the water sample. This method is characterized by safety, simplicity, less trouble, low cost of analysis and without harm to the operators
