The DCBA experiment searching for neutrinoless double beta decay

  • 1. High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), 1-1 Oho, Tsukuba, Ibaraki 305-0801 (Japan)

Description

Majorana neutrinos are postulated in both theories of the neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ) and the seesaw mechanism. The observation of 0νββ would be an evidence of the seesaw mechanism. The DCBA experiment measures the kinetic energy of individual beta ray in double beta decays with powerful background rejection capability. For the future project, Magnetic Tracking Detector (MTD) is designed on the basis of DCBA-T2 and T3.
