Nuclear vertex constant and astrophysical s-factor of the 14N(p, γ)15O radiative capture reaction at extremely low energies

  • 1. Inst. of Nuclear Physics, Tashkent (Uzbekistan)

Description

The differential cross sections of (3He, d) reaction on 14N nucleus have been measured in the forward hemisphere at energy 22.3 MeV. The analysis of combining DWBA and dispersion Theory have been carried out. It is shown that proton transferring is pure peripheral. Ths circumstance enables to use the method of taking into account the three-body Coulomb dynamics of transfer peripheral mechanism for obtaining values of the nuclear vertex constant (NVC) (or the respective asymptotic normalization coefficients) the virtual to decay 15O→p+14N. The NVC for proton separation from the ground and a few lowest states of the residual nucleus are obtained. The obtained information about NVC's is used for calculation of the astrophysical S-factors S9E0 of the 14N(p, γ)15O reaction at rather low energies, which are carried out within R-matrix approach. It is demonstrated that the R-matrix approach, using the obtained NVC can be applied as an ideal tool minimizing existing uncertainties associated with calculation the direct capture part of the S(E) for the 14N(p, γ)15O reaction at astrophysical relevant energies
