Sorption of tungsten (6) ions by hydrated zirconium dioxide
Description
The sorption capacity of hydrated zirconium dioxide towards tungsten(VI) depends upon the concentration, pH value, contact time, ionic strength of the solution and the nature of the background electrolyte. At sorption from the solutions with pH=5 to 7.4 an exchange of OH ions of the ionite with tungsten(VI) ions involves molecular sorption with ion-dipole interaction between the ions in solution and polar matrix of the ionite. At sorption from solutions with pH=7.4 to12.6 an exchange of hydroxylic protons with cations of the solution occurs, while tungsten(VI) is sorbed only via ion-dipole interaction
