Description

Low energy N+ ions produced by N2 are accelerated and then introduced into aqueous solution to induce chemical reactions. This process avoids the need of a vacuum chamber and makes it possible to investigate the actions of low energy ions in aqueous solution. In order to explore prebiotic synthesis of nucleotide via reaction between low energy ions and aqueous solution under the primitive earth conditions, low energy N+ is implanted into aqueous solution containing cytosine, D-ribose, D-2-deoxyribose and NH4H2PO4. It is confirmed that 5'-CMP and 5'-dCMP are produced by HPLC and 1H-NMR analyses. The relation between yields of 5'-CMP and 5'-dCMP and irradiation time has been obtained
