  • 1. M.V. Lomonosov State Univ., Moscow (USSR)

Description

B x-ray diffraction (autodiffractometer, 2θ-θ method, λ MoKα radiation, 793 reflections) the authors have determined the crystal structure of the new synthetic orthophosphate Cs(MnPO4): a = 9.575(2), b = 9.128(3), c = 5.595(1) angstrom, space group Pbn21, Z = 4, ρt = 3.84 g/cm3, Rhkl = 4.32%, obtained by hydrothermal crystallization in the system MnO-(NH4)2HPO4-CsF-H2O. The tetrahedral Mn, P framework in the structure of CsMnOP4, derived from the framework in the structure of β-tridymite, was first encountered amount TT frameworks. A feature of the structure is the splitting of three oxygen atoms from four in each tetrahedron
