Antiproton betatron cooling for SSC

Creators

  • 1. CERN, Geneva, Switzerland

Description

The present antiproton facilities which are under construction are designed to cool 108 particles per second. For a new generation of antiproton sources, an increase of the number of particles by an order of magnitude is foreseeable. The authors outline the consequences of such an extrapolation on transverse stochastic cooling
