Description
The scanning electron microscope is a useful instrument for the detection of morphological and chemical changes in material surfaces due to sodium corrosion and mass transfer. Some examples for the application of the scanning microscope and the X-ray spectrometer combined with it are presented. The limits of the method in the observation of corrosion phenomena are discussed. (orig.)

Das Rasterelektronenmikroskop ist das geeignete Instrument, um die morphologischen und chemischen Veraenderungen an Werkstoffen durch Korrosion und Massetransport im Natrium zu ermitteln. Fuer die Anwendung des Mikroskops und des damit kombinierten energiedispersiven Roentgenspektrometers zur Untersuchung der abtragenden Natriumkorrosion an austenitischen Staehlen und Nickelbasislegierungen werden einige Beispiele gegeben. Die Grenzen der Methode fuer die Erkennung von Korrosionsphaenomenen werden diskutiert. (orig./GSC)
