Tokamak MHD instabilities: methods for taking into account the inertia in the ideal MHD modes

Description

This chapter takes the plasma inertia into account in order to find the growth rates of the respective instabilities. A general scheme is presented of modification of the small-oscillation equations. Then the problem reduces to calculating the contribution of the plasma compressibility (the longitudinal plasma inertia). This contribution is defined by detailed plasma properties which are calculated in the approximation of one-fluid MHD
