Equilibrium x-ray emission of an optically thick plasma
Description
Different regimes of equilibrium emission are considered for different relationships between the density and temperature of an optically thick fully ionized nonrelativistic plasma. The radiation spectra and plasma luminosities are found in a wide range of densities and temperatures of the nonrelativistic hot plasma. Consideration is given to the possibility of the establishment of frequency equilibrium of photons in a low-density plasma through photon-photon interaction rather than Compton scattering
