Description
The results are given of crystal field investigations on the cubic intermetallic compound PrMg3 by inelastic neutron scattering and specific heat measurement. From the neutron spectra measured at T = 8 and 80 K the following crystal field parameters are obtained: B40 = -34.7 x 10-4 meV and B60 = -89 x 10-6 meV. The crystal field ground state of Pr3+ is the non-magnetic doublet GAMMA3. (author)
