Nuclei/antinuclei production at LHC energies

Full text. The analysis of nuclei/anti-nuclei ratios produced in ALICE is proposed. As a first step we simulate deuterium production in p-p collisions at TeV energies to evaluate the geometrical detection efficiency, relative to protons and anti-protons, using TPC tracking for momentum reconstruction and TOF for timing. Then, a simple coalescence afterburner, based on p-n minimum phase-space correlations in the hadronization stage, is implemented to estimate the expected deuterium yields. A possible relationship with big-bang nucleosynthesis will also be discussed. (author)
