Investigation of defects in yttrium-aluminium garnet using the thermoluminescence and thermoelectric current
Description
Investigations of defects in single crystals of yttrium aluminium garnet alloyed with rare earth ions were carried out by means of the thermoanalysis. Influences of γ and X rays on the tested single crystals grown by optical zone melting in the air was examined. Quantitative evaluation of the information obtained was done on the basis of thermoelectric current spectra and thermoluminescence spectra allowing to reveal two intensive groups of lines, which are evidently inherent to the matrix itself.
