The spin content of the proton. The large N and chiral limits revisited

Description
The spin content of the proton is studied in a generalized Skyrme model incorporating the effects of the coupling of the η' to other mesons in a manner suggested by the U(1) anomaly. We find that the spin content is order unity in a 1/N expansion (where N is the number of colors in QCD). This result holds in the ciral limit. This is in contrast to results obtained using Skyrme models without these couplings which show that the spin content is suppressed in the large N and chiral limits. (orig.)
