Further constraints on SU(N) flavor grand unification

Description

We investigate the restrictions on possible SU(N) flavor grand unifications coming from the requirements of asymptotic freedom, and an additional condition on the representations in which light-fermion generations are contained. We obtain upper limits N = 14 under the one condition and N = 9 under the other condition for models with three generations
