Description

External radiation measurement for Malaysia Nuclear Agency is a part of license requirement under Atomic Licensing Energy Board (AELB). The main objective of this paper is to monitor external radiation for public exposure in Raymintex plant area. The objective is to show different types of Optically Stimulated Luminescence Dosimeter (OSLD) for external radiation measurement. Three different type of OSLD (EX, XA and Nano dot) was located in 7 different sampling location around Raymintex plant. These 3 different types of OSLD undergo anneal process before using and OSLD is analyzed using Micro star instrument at Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL), Malaysian Nuclear Agency. Result shows that 3 different types of OSLD (EX, XA and Nano dot) is under 1 mSv/year. Reading of 3 different types of OSLD (EX, XA and Nano dot) is 0.07 mSv/year, 0.06 mSv/year and 0.18 mSv/year respectively. Radiation external exposure limit is under acceptance limit of Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB). (author)
