The radiative scattering of antineutrino on electron in the Weinberg-Salam theory

Description

The Weinberg-Salam (W-S) model was applied for considering radiation scattering of an antineutrino on an electron: anti νsub(μ)+e→e+anti νsub(μ)+γ (1); anti νsub(e)+e→e+anti νsub(e)+γ (2). The formulae for the angular and the energy distributions of photons in the reactions (1) and (2) have been obtained. The case of soft photons is considered in detail. The total cross sections of the above processes have also been calculated. The process (1), caused by the interference of weak interaction of neutral currents and electromagnetic interaction is depicted by two Feynman diagrams. The process (2) is depicted in the W-S theory by five diagrams three of which correspond to exchange by a charged W- boson, and two- to exchange by a neutral Z boson. The differential cross sections of the processes (1) and (2) have been calculated and integrated over antineutrino and electron momenta. The dependence of the V-A cross section of the process νsub(e)+e→e+anti νsub(e)+γ on the angle of γ THETA for Esub(anti ν)=1.5-10 GeV has been obtained. For each energy of an incident antineutrino the V-A cross section of the process (2) increases with the decrease of the angle of photon reaching its maximal value at a certain THETA. The total cross sections of the processes (1) and (2) increase when the energy range of detected photons and the energy of an initial antineutrino increase
