Temperature dependence of the quantum yield of electroluminescence and degradation processes in NaCl

Description
A study was made on temperature dependences of η(T) quantum yield of electroluminescence (EL) of thin monocrystal NaCl and NaCl-Cu layers (6 x 10-2 mol%). In both crystals η(T) dependence in nonactivator band changed sharply at temperatures above -20 degC. Such ambiguity of η(T) was not observed in activator NaCl-Cu band. Experimental data were used to make a conclusion about the important role of dislocation mechanism during generation of point defects -centers of nonactivator EL
