ESS (Social and Solidarity Economy) and energy transition

In order to reconcile ecological and social issues while embracing a transition that could turn out to be a real opportunity, this Avise dossier provides keys of understanding and action so that a greater number of actors in the social and solidarity economy (SSE) create and develop initiatives in favor of a solidarity-based energy transition. Faced with the acceleration of climate change but also with inequalities in access to energy, the transformation of the French energy model has become one of the most urgent challenges of our century. On the strength of their vocation for social utility and their capacity for innovation, SSE companies are committed to and participating in a social and inclusive energy transition, which could prove to be a tremendous opportunity for all stakeholders (communities, citizens, private and public actors, actors of the social and solidarity economy) to rethink the modes of decision-making, production and consumption of energy and more broadly of society.
