Studies of age-dependent strontium metabolism with application to fallout data
Description
A theoretical model is proposed for the uptake of 90Sr in bones from nuclear fallout. Comparisons are made with experimental data for British subjects of various ages and for different years. For the early periods 1957-60 and 1964, the computed curve underestimates the data. For 1968 there is an overestimate for the young members of the population. A previous model yields a closer approximation to the data is not amenable to a closed form solution. (UK)
