Density profiling of thin samples

Description
Density profiles of fibre and filler through cardboard samples have been determined by attenuation measurements of a dual energy beam from a radioactive source. Improvements to the design of such a profiler for thin card are described. Results are presented for a suite of previously studied samples. Features of the measurements are discussed along with possible use of deconvolution techniques to improve the resolution. (author). 3 refs., 6 figs
