Description

Simple one-dimensional models have been proposed which permit the extension of the Frenkel-Kontorova model to antiferromagnetically ordered crystal. It is shown that this model provides a qualitative description of complex topological defects in two-dimensional antiferromagnets which represent a bound state of dislocation with magnetic disclination and a pair of dislocations bounded together by antiferromagnetic domain boundary. A study is made of the change in the structure and the dynamics of dislocation and their confinement in going from the paramagnetic phase to the antiferromagnetic one. The change in elastic and plastic properties of quasi-two-dimensional crystals has been predicted in the Neel phase transition
