Studies of hydrogen isotope storage on zeolitic sieves and intermetallic compounds by adsorption methods

Description
For the hydrogen isotope adsorption molecular sieves and activated carbon, we used the adsorption process occurring at liquid nitrogen temperature. The commercial zeolites have the same properties with natural zeolites, but they have a regular pore structure. They also have affinity for molecules of different size with defined shapes. Experimental results obtained at liquid nitrogen (77.4 K) evidenced the efficient behavior of the activated carbon and zeolitic sieves for the temporary storage of hydrogen isotopes. Storage of hydrogen isotopes in hydride forms is considered being very practical a way from the point of view of a large storage capacity. The reason for this is that the reaction between hydrogen isotopes and many hydrides which are formed is spontaneous at room temperature, yielding a hydride of low dissociation pressure at the ambient temperature.
