Comparative study of legal limits of safety requirements for nuclear installations

Description

This paper makes a detailed analysis of safety philosophies and principles of radiological protection at international and national levels according to a standardised plan for purposes of comparison. It describes the relevant regulations of the IAEA, OECD/NEA and Euratom and those of the US, UK, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Federal Republic of Germany. The author points out that the ICRP recommendations are the guidelines in the radiation protection field. (NEA)

Cette communication fournit une analyse detaillee des philosophies de surete et des principes de protection radiologique tant au niveau international que national, selon un plan uniformise pour faciliter les comparaisons. Elle decrit les reglements elabores en la matiere par l'AIEA, l'OCDE/AEN, et l'Euratom, ainsi que ceux appliques aux Etats-Unis, au Royaume-Uni, en France, en Italie, aux Pays-Bas, en Suisse et en Republique federale d'Allemagne. L'auteur signale que les recommandations de la CIPR servent de guide en matiere de radioprotection
