Low order dynamical models for ion temperature gradient (ITG) mode

  • 1. Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto Univ., Uji, Kyoto (Japan)

Description

Low order dynamical models describing the toroidal ITG (Ion Temperature Gradient) mode are studied. The 11 components and 18 components models are solved numerically, and their behaviors are compared with each other. When the parameter describing the ion temperature gradient (Ki) is small, both models show the periodic behaviors. As the parameter Ki increases, the chaotic solutions are appeared in both models. When Ki is further increased, 11 components model shows the periodic oscillations while 18 components model shows the chaotic behaviors. (author)
