CT findings of the normal appendix. Comparison with Ba enema study

We evaluated the normal appendix on CT. First of all, we identified the appendix on CT in comparison with one on Ba enema examination which was used as the gold standard. Then we estimated feature of the normal appendix, the condition of the periappendiceal tissue, and correlation between identification of the appendix on CT and volume of the periappendiceal fat. We discussed the results compared with the CT findings of the appendicitis. (author)
