On the possibility of ohmic ignition in a spheromak

Description
Using an energy confinement mode argued to be conservative, it is shown that a spheromak of moderate size could reach ignition by ohmic heating alone. The model predictions are consistent with the highest temperatures achieved in spheromak experiments to date (up to 400 eV). (author)
