Determination of neutron dose equivalent and fluence in the energy range 10 to 300 MeV by means of a plastic scintillator

Description
The prototype of a scintillation detector for determining the neutron dose equivalent and fluence in the radiation field behind accelerator shieldings is described. Detection efficiency and response function have been calculated and compared with both experimental data and data taken from the literature. The advantage of the detector consists in its high sensitivity and the fast and simple evaluation of the measured values. (author)
