Description
Active detectors based on PIN silicon diodes are being developed for individual radiation protection purposes in mixed neutron and photon fields. Development of improved, multi-detector, electronic personal dosemeters (EPD) with pre-set alarm made it possible to consider using these devices as workplace dosemeters. Efforts have been made in BARC to develop indigenously and fabricated neutron electronic pocket dosimeter. This paper presents the preliminary studies of the dose response of this pocket dosimeter to neutrons and compares it with a commercial pocket dosimeter. (author)
