Description
In this paper a preliminary analysis of the construction and cost of the IGNITEX facility is presented. The IGNITEX fusion facility is described and a layout is proposed that is consistent with the simplicity of operation and low cost of the experiment. Structure and shielding characteristics are outlined. A project schedule that includes a design phase, a construction and commissioning phase, and an operation phase is considered. Conceptual CPM/PERT charts of each phase are presented. The basic cost of construction of the IGNITEX experiment is analyzed here. A cost model that includes entries for the various subsystems of the IGNITEX experiment and facility is developed
