Clinical evaluation of 13 cases with radiation therapy for invasive thymoma

Description

Thymoma generally has a good prognosis. But recently, difference of prognosis is clarified depending on World Health Organization (WHO) classification. As adjuvant therapy, advanced-staged patients get to undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy to prevent local recurrence. But in our case, the patient with bulky and invasive tumor was died at early date from distant metastasis. The tumor size and extent of infiltrating normal surrounding tissue may affect prognosis and provide some useful tips on how to choice treatment. (author)
