Nanosecond pulse modulator with the frequency up to 250kHz in the pulse train mode

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (USSR). Radiotekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

The increase of pulse repetition rate up to hundreds of kHz opens new prospects in designing of electron induction linacs of a new generation and waveguide accelerators with nanosecond and picosecond beam current pulses in the pulse train mode. A magnetic pulse modulator, operating according to the magnetization method with no induction sign variation is described. The pulse repetition rate is 250kHz in the pulse train mode at voltage amplitude of 50 kV, capacity is 16MW and duration is 15ns. The pulse number in the pulse train can vary from 1 to 30. The pulse train repetition rate can vary from unit to 10Hz
