The remote calibration of radioactivity measurement equipment

  • 1. National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, National Metrology Inst. of Japan, Tsukuba, Ibaraki (Japan)
  • 2. Japan Radioisotope Association, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

The new calibration technique (e-trace) has been developed by National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), with which measurement equipments in remote place can be calibrated without their transportation. The remote calibration system for an ionization chamber using radioisotopes as transfer standard was developed and applied to secondary standard ionization chamber between AIST and JRIA (Japan radioisotope association). Remote calibration will be applied to a RI calibrator for medical short half-life nuclides. (T. Tanaka)
