ISO - standards for incorporation monitoring

ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is a world wide federation of national standardisation bodies and therefore also responsible for the international standardisation in the field of radiation protection. ISO recently adopted a standard on the requirements for laboratories responsible for incorporation monitoring measurements. This standard was developed by the-Working Group on Internal Dosimetry (WG 13). Presently, a draft standard is developed dealing with programmes for the monitoring of workers occupationally exposed to radioactive materials. The next planned step will be a standard for the quantitative evaluation of monitoring results. This contribution described shortly the two standards on laboratory requirements and on monitoring programmes. (orig.)
