Full text: Core-shell structural SWNT and MWNT/ZrO2 nanocomposites were successfully prepared by isothermal hydrolyzing and chemical precipitation of SWNT/MWNT-dispersed ZrOCl2 ·8H2O aqueous solution. A highly conformal and uniform monoclinic zirconia coating was deposited on MWCNTs rather than SWCNTs by this new and simple method, and the thickness of the coating increased by the isothermal process
