A study on a TBA lattice with two very long straight sections
Description
The authors of this paper modify a 12 period triple bend achromat lattice such that the length of two straight sections in opposite positions is 10m, while the other straight sections are 6.36m long. In this very long straight section, one can perform free electron laser experiments, install a 8m long undulator, etc. The two very long straight sections break the 12-fold symmetry, thus introducing extra resonance lines. They also shrink the dynamic aperture, compared with the original 12 period lattice. However, for single particle dynamics the modified lattice displays good performance in beam dynamics simulations
