Communication Received from the United States of America Concerning Its Policies Regarding the Management of Plutonium
Description
The Secretariat has received a letter dated 13 October 2010 from the Permanent Mission of the United States of America to the IAEA in the enclosures of which the Government of the United States of America, in keeping with its commitment under the Guidelines for the Management of Plutonium (contained in INFCIRC/549 of 16 March 1998 and hereinafter referred to as the 'Guidelines'), and in accordance with Annexes B and C of the Guidelines, has made available annual figures for holdings of civil unirradiated plutonium and the estimated amounts of plutonium contained in spent civil reactor fuel as of 31 December 2009. The Permanent Mission of the United States has also communicated in its letter that there have been recent changes in its plutonium and fuel cycle policy to replace the statement, and has included a Revised Plutonium and Fuel Cycle Policy Statement provided with the report submitted by the United States for 2007.

Sekretariat poluchil ot Postojannogo predstavitel'stva Soedinennyh Shtatov Ameriki v adres MAGATJe pis'mo ot 13 oktjabrja 2010 goda, v kotorom pravitel'stvo Soedinennyh Shtatov Ameriki v sootvetstvii so svoim objazatel'stvom v ramkah Rukovodjashhih principov obrashhenija s plutoniem (soderzhashhihsja v dokumente INFCIRC/549 ot 30 marta 1998 goda i v dal'nejshem imenuemyh 'Rukovodjashhie principy') i soglasno prilozhenijam V i S jetih Rukovodjashhih principov predstavljaet ezhegodnye dannye o zapasah grazhdanskogo neobluchennogo plutonija i ob ocenochnyh kolichestvah plutonija, soderzhashhegosja v otrabotavshem toplive grazhdanskih reaktorov, po sostojaniju na 31 dekabrja 2009 goda. Postojannoe predstavitel'stvo Soedinennyh Shtatov v svoem pis'me takzhe soobshhilo o nedavnih izmenenijah v svoej politike v otnoshenii plutonija i toplivnogo cikla, i v jetoj svjazi vkljuchilo Peresmotrennoe zajavlenie o politike v otnoshenii plutonija i toplivnogo cikla, zamenjajushhee Zajavlenie, predstavlennoe Soedinennymi Shtatami sovmestno s dokladom za 2007 god.
