Model of the chromosphere above the active region according to the observed Lsub(α), Lsub(β) hydrogen lines and ultraviolet lines of neutral and ionized elements

The chromosphere model above the bright area in the active solar region is calculated. Used are the experimental contours and equivalent widths of the Lsub(α), Lsub(β) hydrogen lines and ultraviolet lines of the C, N, O, Si neutral and ionized elements. The integral equation for the source function is solved by the numerical method. Calculated are the temperature, total hydrogen density (the summary neutral atoms density and proton density) and electron density depending on the height in the chromosphere. To determine the electron density the hydrogen ionization is calculated, and the metal contribution to the electron density is assumed constant. It is shown that to explain the observed equivalent line widths the density of the higher chromosphere layers must be greater than the upperturbed chromosphere density. To explain the observed Lsub(α) profile in the unperturbed region it is necessary to have a thin dense layer in the higher chromosphere layers. The active region temperature is greater than the region temperatures at all the chromosphere levels. The proposed chromosphere model satisfactorily describes the experimental data
