Description
The energy demand in Romania can be covered by domestic or foreign primary resources. The decisions on the policies of covering these demands require the achievement of an integrated planning aiming at resources. The paper deals with the Romanian power network considered as energy flow circuits from the primary energy forms to conversion industry (electric energy, oil, etc) or to end users (lighting, household heating, driving force, etc.). Then the problem is to find a balance between energy demand and energy generation, by taking into account that existing energy forms must be correlated with the processing technologies, with the costs and with the restrictions related to the energy, financial and structural resources as well as with environment requirements. Particular attention is given to complex analyses in order to find a solution for the development of certain sectors by minimum costs that could result in an optimum development at the national scale. The analyses are carried out by means of the Balance program drawn up by the Argonne National Laboratory and made available in Romania by IAEA. (author). 1 fig., 5 tabs., 6 refs
