Experimental study of temperature fields into lanthanum trifluoride crystals growing by Czochralski method

Description
A procedure was proposed for studying the temperature profile in the case of growing lanthanum trifluoride crystals by the Chokhralsky method. The axial distribution of temperature in crystals of various lengths was studied. It was found that structural defects occur mostly within the area near the crystallization front. For stationary thermal process the conditions for growing crystals were established. Fluctuations in temperature of the liquid phase near the crystallization front were measured and a method was proposed for decreasing the fluctuations
