Simple recipes for ground scattering in neutron detector calibration
Description
Simple formulae are presented to account for ground scattering of neutrons above an earth or concrete surface without relying on albedo data. These formulae, which should be useful in calibrating neutron fluence or dose responding instruments, have been checked against Monte Carlo calculations and measurements with a PuBe source, with agreement to better than 10%.
