Formalization of the autoradiogram image forming process on dielectric track detectors
- 1. Vsesoyuznyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Radiatsionnoj Tekhniki, Moscow (USSR)
Description
Some aspects of image forming of α-autoradiograms on dielectric track detectors made of cellulose nitrate are considered. The nature of the interaction of α-particles with the irradiation medium and the dielectric material and the linear dependence between the optical density and the number of α-particles registered by the detector allow to understand the process of image forming and to characterize it as a modulation transfer function. This mathematical formalism is applied to some examples
