Effect of alloying and phase composition on the tendency to cracking of welded nickel alloys
Description
The influence of the content of the alloying elements (Cr, Mo, W and Al) and the strengthening γ-phase Ni3(Al,Ti) on the structure and cracking resistance of the experimental heat-resisting ageing Ni-17% Cr-10% Co and Ni-25% Cr-10% Co alloys. It is Shown that the nickel alloys are inclined to the development of cracks during welding with the availability of more than 6% of the sigma-phase and in the post-welding thermal treatment process >=3% are sufficient. The components of the alloys being welded may be positioned in the following order, representing the decrease in the influence on the cracks formation during welding and during the post-welding heating: Al, Ti, W, Mo, Cr
