Description

We determined the isotropic 13C NMR hyperfine coupling constant as aiso/2π=0.69±0.06 MHz for the C603- ion near room temperature (RT). On this basis, the spin susceptibility at RT, χs(RT), was estimated in various alkali-metal doped C60 compounds A3C60, which is approximately proportional to the lattice constant a0; we found dχs/da0=(0.61±0.06)x10-3 (emu/moleC60)/A . The correlation between the superconducting transition temperature Tc and χs(RT) was determined. It was found that Tc of Na2RbC60, Na2KC60, Li2CsC60, and ammoniated A3C60 is significantly lower than that expected from the BCS relation based on χs(RT). copyright 1996 The American Physical Society
