Roentgenomorphological correlations in small size peripheral lung carcinoma

  • 1. Pervyj Moskovskij Meditsinskij Inst. (USSR)

Description

Roentgenomorphological findings were compared in 71 patients with small size (T1) and 77 patients with developed (T2) peripheral lung carcinoma. A study was made of the effect of the morphological structures on the formation of an X-ray picture of different histological types of small size peripheral carcinoma. Pronounced distinctions of the X-ray signs of squamous-cell carcinoma from well and moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma and, on the contrary, a great similarity between poorly differentiated glandular and small and large cell carcinoma were defined. As for size, the utmost distinctions of an X-ray picture are observed in small and large cell carcinoma, the least in adenocarcinoma and squamous-cell carcinoma. The X-ray signs of small size carcinoma are more monotypic than those of large size carcinoma
